Murchison Falls National Park Park Entry Fees : Murchison falls National park is one of the 10 national parks in Uganda. This park is ranked as the biggest national park in the country which covers a total surface area of over 3,840 square kilometers and it is located in the Northern part of Uganda. Murchison falls national park is being managed by the Uganda Wildlife Authority which is a government agency that is responsible for protecting all the national parks in the country.
Murchison falls national park was first gazette as a game reserve in 1926 and later established as a National park in 1952 and it is also known to be a home to over 451 bird species such as; the rare shoebill stork, the Hamerkop, the francolin Hornbill, crombec, white egrets. More so, it is also a home to over 76 mammal species such as; giraffes, Zebras, the African bush elephants, hippos, elands, zebras, Nile crocodiles, antelopes and many others.

Murchison Falls National Park Park Entry Fees are only levied on individuals who are 18 years and above which gives an opportunity to children who are 5 years and below to access the park for free and children who are aged from 5-17 are always charged differently. One advantage of these entry fees is that they contribute on the development of the communities neighboring with the national park due to the fact that 30% of the revenues collected are later distributed within the surrounding communities.

Tourists need to note that the entrance fees to Murchison Falls national park are charged according to one’s nationality, age, and the number of days an individual is planning to spend in the park.
Therefore, entrance fees in Murchison falls national park in 2023 will be 30 USD for foreigner residents, 40 USD for foreigner non-residents, 20,000 UGX for the East African citizens and all children who are aged from 5-15 years will be charged followingly; 20 USD for foreign non-residents, 10 USD for foreign residents and 5,000 for East African Citizens.

Uganda wildlife Authority stated different prices on how vehicles entering into Murchison falls national park should be charged and this is well explained below;
- 4 by 4-wheel vehicles and tour company vehicles are charged at a fee of 150 USD for foreign registered vehicles and 30,000 UGX for Ugandan registered vehicles.
- Over landers are charged at a cost of 150 USD for foreign registered vehicles and 100,000Ugx for the Ugandan registered vehicles.
- Buses and lorries are charged at a fee of 150 USD for the foreign registered vehicles while the Ugandan registered Vehicles are charged at a fee of 150,000Ugx.

- More so, the Ugandan registered school busses are charged at a fee of 50,000Ugx.
- Pick-ups pay a cost of 50 USD for the foreign owned vehicles and 30,000 for the Ugandan owned vehicles.
- Lastly, the Omni-buses and the minibuses are charged at a fee of 50 USD for the foreign registered vehicles and 30,000Ugx for the Ugandan owned vehicles.
Air Craft landing fees in Murchison Falls National Park.
All aircrafts that land in Murchison falls national park are charged a specific amount depending on its size and the number of seats it has. And it is important to note that these fees are paid every time the plane lands on the grounds of the Park.
- A three-seater plane is charged at a fee of 20 USD for the foreign registered planes while the Ugandan registered planes are charged at a cost of 40,000Ugx.
- All micro lights and gilders are charged at a fee of 10 USD for the foreign registered aircrafts every time they land and the Ugandan registerd aircrafts pay 20,000Ugx.
- A 4 to 6 seater aircraft is charged at a fee of 40 USD for the foreign registered aircraft and 60,000Ugx for the Ugandan registered aircrafts.
- Helicopters are charged at a fee of 100USD and 250,000Ugx every time they land.
- A 7 to 14 aircraft seater is charge at fee of 40 USD for the foreign registered planes while the Ugandan registered planes are charged 80,000Ugx.
- A 15-20 seater plane is charged at 50 USD for the foreign registered aircrafts and 100,000UGX for the Ugandan registered aircrafts.
- A 21 seater aircrafts are charged 60 USD for the foreign registered aircraft and the Ugandan registered aircrafts are charged at a cost of 120,000Ugx.
However, the pilots do not pay entry fess if they are planning to spend less than 2 hours in the park but all aircrafts are supposed to pay a parking fee of 10,000Ugx per day and the only advantage about the landing fees is that they cover the entry fees that is supposed to be paid by the passengers.
Murchison Falls national park is recommended as the best destination for one to visit while planning to go for a wildlife safari in Uganda.
