On this safari, you will encounter the endangered mountain gorillas in the forests of Bwindi, 4 of the Big Five (lions, leopards, cape buffaloes and elephants) and other wildlife in both Queen Elizabeth national park and Lake Mburo.

Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Depart for Queen Elizabeth National park
Our driver – guide will pick you from your hotel in Kampala and or at Entebbe International Airport upon arrive and embark on a journey to Queen Elizabeth national park which is among Uganda’s most visited national park because of its great bio diversity of wildlife. Along the way, you will have lunch in Mbarara then proceed to the park arriving in the afternoon, enjoy en-route game drive as you head to your accommodation, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 2: Chimp tracking and Boat cruise.
after breakfast you will head to the Kyambura Gorge for chimpanzee tracking and other primates, after briefing you will head into the forest looking for chimpanzees, you will also be able to see other primates such as Olive baboons, black and white colobus monkeys among others.
In the afternoon you will enjoy a launch cruise on the Kazinga Channel where you will see hippos, crocodiles and various water birds such as kingfishers, shoebill stork, herons and bee eaters among others. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Game drive and drive to Bwindi.
After an early breakfast, you will head to the Ishasha Sector for a game drive enjoy seeing tree climbing lions, leopards, elephants, cape buffaloes and numerous bird species.
After lunch, you will proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable national park arriving in the evening, check into your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Mountain Gorilla tracking
This day is for mountain Gorilla tracking which is the highlight of the safari as you will come face to face with Gentle Giants of Bwindi, after breakfast you will head to the park’s headquarters where you will be briefed about the tracking activity.
After being assigned a gorilla group to trek you will set into the forests of Bwindi looking for mountain gorillas, the trek takes approximately 2-6 hours depending on the location of gorillas and the group you are trekking. When you find the gorillas you will stay for one hour in their presence while witnessing their fascinating characters which are similar to humans. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight. Alternatively you can have a visit to the Batwa Community where you will enjoy and witness the behavior of the Masai people. Have dinner and stay overnight.
Day 5: Drive to Lake Mburo
After breakfast you will checkout of your lodge and embark on a journey to Lake Mburo national park, when you arrive in the park you will have en-route game drive as you head to your lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon you will head to Lake Mburo for an afternoon canoe ride, you will be able to see crocodiles, hippos and a number of birds. Have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 6: Nature walks and transfers to Kampala.
after breakfast, you will set out on a guided nature walk for an opportunity to get close to the animals in the park and get a great view of the park’s scenic topography, then you will drive back to Kampala with a stopover at the Equator for pictures and buy some souvenirs at the African Craft Market. When you arrive in Kampala, you will be dropped off at the airport for your departure flight back home.
