4 days Uganda Safari Tour : The four-day Queen Elizabeth national park tour will take you to the southwestern region of Uganda, which has the second largest national park in the country, Queen Elizabeth national park.
The park is home to a wide variety of wildlife species, including the big five mammals – the lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards – and many other species of animals as well, such as waterbucks, warthogs, bushbucks, giant woodland hogs and hippos, among others. Queen Elizabeth national park is however known for the tree-climbing lions which are found in the Ishasha sector, the southern part of the park.

Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park
Upon arriving at the Entebbe international airport on the first day of our four-day Queen Elizabeth national park tour, you will be met by our driver guide who will give you a brief overview of the safari before we begin our journey to the national park.
On the way you will have a stopover at the Equator in Kayabwe where you will be able to take photos, buy souvenirs and another stop over at Igongo cultural center for lunch. During the drive through the park, you will enjoy great views of tea plantations, crater lakes, the Rwenzori Mountains, lovely landscapes, and upon your arrival you will be taken to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay. After lunch you will continue the journey with great views of tea plantations, crater lakes, Rwenzori Mountains, among others.
Day 2: Morning game drive/ lion tracking experience and afternoon boat cruise
After an early morning breakfast on the second day of your four-day Queen Elizabeth national park tour, you will be met by your driver for a morning game drive / lion tracking experience that starts at around seven in the morning.
During the game drive which is commonly done in Kasenyi plains you will be able to view different animals such as elephants, lions, buffaloes, waterbucks, bushbucks, warthogs, bird species like grey crowned crane, red throat spur fowl, martial eagle, black bellied bustard, Senegal plover, black headed gonolek, white tailed lark, rufous napped lark among others, take beautiful pictures of the landscape, sunrise among others. After the game drive you will drive back to the lodge for lunch.

In the afternoon, you will drive to the landing site near the luxurious lodge Mweya safari lodge for an exciting boat cruise on Kazinga channel, a water body that connects the lakes Edward and George. The scheduled boat cruise takes about 2 to 3 hours ride and gives you an opportunity take clear photos, cruise meters away from large concentrations of hippos and Nile crocodiles in water, other animals like elephants, buffaloes, antelopes among others which will be drinking water along the banks, aquatic bird species like swamp nightjar, grey headed kingfisher, little bee-eater, swamp flycatcher, pygmy kingfisher, black headed gonolek, view fisher men on the lake shores preparing their fishing gears for night fishing among others. After the interesting boat cruise you will meet up with your driver guide and transfer to the lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Chimpanzee trekking and drive to Ishasha sector
On the third day of your 4 days Uganda Safari Tour in Queen Elizabeth national park, you will wake up early in the morning to enjoy an early breakfast before meeting your driver guide for the transfer to the Kyambura gorge where you will have the opportunity to see chimpanzees.
Upon arrival you will be briefed about the rules and regulations of chimpanzee trekking and allocated a park guide who will lead you into the jungle while trekking. Trekking of chimpanzees in Kyambura gorge is an exciting activity that involves moving from one place to another in search of the habituated chimpanzee family. Chimpanzee trekking in the gorge takes about 30 minutes to 4 hours depending on where the chimpanzees are located because they like to move from one place to another in search of food.
During trekking you will have great views of other primates like baboons, black and white colobus monkeys, red tailed monkeys, listen to sweet sounds of bird species like African kingfisher, blue headed bee-eater, falcons, African finfoot, animals, plant species, breath fresh air among others. Once the chimpanzees are found you will be allowed to spend one hour with them in their natural habitat which gives you an opportunity to watch them carry out their daily activities like feeding, breastfeeding, playing, hunting, resting, learn about their lifestyle, take photos and record the moments. After the one hour with the chimpanzees, you will trek back to the starting point where you will meet up with your driver-guide and return to the lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon, your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge and transfer you to Ishasha sector in the southern part of Queen Elizabeth national park after lunch. Ishasha sector is famously known for the tree climbing lions which will be viewed lying up in acacia, fig tree branches.
The lions in Ishasha sector climb trees due to various factors such as to have a clear view of the prey, to escape ground heat, to run away from biting insects among others. Aside from the tree climbing lions in Ishasha sector, you will also be able to observe other animals like elephants, buffaloes, a variety of bird species, as well as many others. After the game drive you will drive back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Departure to Kampala
As you prepare for the final day of your 4 days Uganda Safari Tour in the Queen Elizabeth national park, after a relaxed breakfast at the lodge, you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide for the journey back to Kampala. On the way you will have a stopover at Igongo cultural center where you will also visit the museum to know more about the Ankole culture and tradition. Upon your arrival at the Igongo cultural center, you will proceed with the journey to Kampala, where your driver guide will drop you off at the Entebbe international airport for your flight out of Kampala.
