The 4 Days Amboseli and Tsavo East safari is one of the best safari packages which includes a visit to two of the most beautiful and well known national parks in Kenya. These parks are the Amboseli and the Tsavo East national parks. This safari starts and ends in Nairobi.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Transfer from Nairobi to Amboseli national park 

  • Transfer from Nairobi to Amboseli:

After breakfast on the first morning of the safari, you will be picked up by your safari driver from your Nairobi hotel, and your safari driver who is also your representative will give you a brief description of the safari, and then you will set out on a drive of approximately three to four hours to the Amboseli national park, where you will spend the night.

Once you have checked into your lodge, you will have lunch, and in the afternoon you will go on a game drive, as you enter Amboseli national park, you will be greeted by the scenic backdrop of snowcapped mountain Kilimanjaro, which can be seen from the window of your safari vehicle.

There are also many animals that you will be able to see, including large herds of elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, buffaloes, zebras, Masai giraffes, impalas, spotted hyenas, and many kinds of birds, including peacocks, lesser flamingos, common redshanks, hartlaub’s bustards, Rufous chatterers, eagles and many more. In the evening you will have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 2:  Morning game drive and transfer to Tsavo East national park 

  • Morning game drive and transfer to Tsavo East:

The second day of the safari involves leaving your lodge and going out for a game drive in the early morning of the second day. This will be your last safari activity in the Amboseli national park. As a result of this experience, you will be able to see many animals such as the cheetahs, leopards, lions, and buffalo herds just as they are waking up.

As soon as you finish breakfast, head back to your lodge for a late breakfast, check-out of your lodge and embark on a drive of 6-7 hours to the Tsavo East national park.

4 Days Amboseli and Tsavo East safari

Amboseli National Park

Upon your arrival in the park, and once you have checked into your lodge, you will have lunch at your lodge before you take a walk around the lodge or go for a swim in the swimming pool in the afternoon. In the evening you will have dinner and stay overnight at your lodge.

Day 3: Full day in Tsavo East National park

  • Full day in Tsavo East:

In the morning of the third day of the safari you will have breakfast, meet your safari driver and head to the park for an entire day of exploring Tsavo east national park. Tsavo east national park is one of the oldest national parks in Kenya and it is a part of the large Tsavo national park.

A number of tourist attractions can be found within the park, including wildlife, Mudanda rocks, Yatta plateaus, Lugard falls, Aruba dams and many more.

During your stay at this fantastic park, you will have the opportunity to take a game drive, on which you will be able to see a large number of animals, including lions, aardwolves, yellow baboons, cape buffalo, bushbucks, leopards, African wild dogs, bush duikers, common eland, south east African cheetahs, and many more.

After lunch, you will enjoy a picnic lunch, followed by a game drive in the afternoon, where various sites will be visited and many attractions will be sighted. In the evening you will have dinner and stay overnight at your lodge.

Day 4: Cultural visit in the local community and transfer back to Nairobi

In the morning of the fourth and last day of your safari, you will eat breakfast and then drive to the Masai community to take a cultural tour of the area. While visiting the Masai community, you will have the opportunity to enjoy local dances and songs, see local animals, see local bomas built from local materials, and interact with the elders. You will also be entertained by local activities like livestock.

As soon as you arrive back at your lodge, you will be dropped off either at your hotel or the airport in time to catch your flight back to Nairobi. After you return home, head back to your lodge for lunch before checking out and setting off on the 3-4 hour drive back to Nairobi.
