Detailed itinerary for your safari

Day 1: Arrival in Kigali and transfer to the park , Boat Cruise

As part of your 3 day Akagera National Park tour, you will be picked up by your guide based on your preference in Kigali City. Your guide will pick you up there, and you will have a memorable briefing session for your three-day safari based on the location of your choice in Kigali city or Kigali international airport.

You will be able to know all about the activities you will be able to participate in, as well as what rules and regulations you should follow during the safari, during the briefing session, which will make the safari the most memorable safari you will ever have.

A city tour of Kigali will be conducted after the briefing session, during which you will have the opportunity to learn more about the culture of the people of Rwanda, including how they conduct their daily activities, as well as visiting the oldest market in Rwanda, Kimironko market. Boat Cruise

As the sun sets over Lake Ihema, you can take a boat cruise in the park for a relaxing evening experience, which will give you an opportunity to watch the sun setting and see a number of crocodiles sun basking, a number of water birds, as well as other rewarding experiences within the park.

Transfer back to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay as you await the next day’s activities.

Day 2: Morning game drive and Evening game drive

After a leisurely breakfast at your hotel on the second day of your 3 day Akagera National Park tour, you will be picked up by your guide who will transfer you to the park in order for you to participate in an early morning game drive with your guides.

If you are lucky enough, you will also be able to see carnivores going back to their hiding places to rest at night in the park.

During your visit, you will be able to observe the lions catching their potential prey, the Uganda kobs, before they go back to their hiding places for the night.

On the morning game drives, you will also get to see the sun rise as the park begins to come to life as wild animals flock to the feeding grounds as the park begins to come to life. After the memorable encounter, head back to your hotel for leisure and transfer back to the park for an evening game drive. A number of game animals will catch their last bite for the day during this wonderful encounter, such as the carnivores, such as the lions, preying on herbivores.

Day 3: Cultural encounters and departure

After breakfast at your hotel on the third day of your three-day Akagera national park tour, your guide will pick you up at your hotel, and you will be taken to the Humure refugee camp where you will get to experience the different aspects of their rewarding culture up close.

It is important for you to know that during your visit to Humure cultural village, you will have the opportunity to participate in the preparation of local dishes and you will have the chance to take part in art lessons provided by the instructors at the village, and after that, you will be transferred back to Kigali city where you will be dropped off at your desired destination in Kigali city or Kigali International Airport, after having a memorable lunch in the city.
