Bwindi impenetrable national park is the best mountain gorilla destination in the world with a total of 19 habituated gorilla families which are available for tourists to track. Each gorilla group in the park is tracked by a group of 8 people on a daily.

Detailed itinerary of 3 Days Bwindi Gorilla Trekking Safari
Day 1: Pickup and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Upon arrival at Entebbe International airport or after breakfast at your hotel in Entebbe or Kampala City, you will be picked up by your safari driver guide, he will give you a short briefing about the safari and kick start your 3 days Gorilla Trekking Safari.
Along the way, you will make a stopover at Kayabwe, Mpigi district at the Equator monument for photographs, there are two Equator monuments tracing the path of the equator across Uganda.
Then proceed to the Igongo Cultural Center for lunch, this cultural center is about 12 kilometers from Mbarara Town and is a wonderful stopover for visitors on their journey to western Uganda. You will have another stop over at the Nkwanzi crafts and bookshop to buy a few a few memetos for yourself. Proceed to Bwindi impenetrable national park arriving in the evening at your lodge, check in and stay overnight.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest.
This day is the highlight of the safari, wake up early for breakfast, leave your lodge as early as 06:00 am and take a short drive to the park’s headquarters depending on the sector you are trekking. At the headquarters you will be briefed about the rules and regulations to follow, be divided into groups of 8 people, be assigned a group to trek and then trek into the forests of Bwindi looking for mountain gorillas.
Bwindi impenetrable national park has several habituated gorilla groups that are found in the 4 gorilla sectors (trailheads) that are Buhoma, Nkuringo, Ruhija and Rushaga.
Gorilla trekking takes approximately 2-6 hours depending on the gorilla family you are trekking and where it spent the previous night, when you locate the gorillas you will stay for one hour while taking enjoying their amazing behavior which is so similar to humans, do not forget to take pictures (make sure your flashlight is off).
Return to your lodge for lunch and then transfer to Lake Bunyonyi a beautiful lake and the deepest lake in Uganda for an overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer Back to Entebbe and Departure
After a leisurely breakfast you will head to Lake Bunyonyi for a boat ride visiting the numerous island found in the lake, your local guide will explain to you the history of each island and also spot several bird species. Then you will bid farewell to the lake and embark on a journey back to Kampala with en-route lunch in Mbarara. You will be dropped off either at your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe International Airport.
